Cathy Winter is the Executive Director of Leadership Development for Premier Sport Psychology. She is an experienced yet perpetually curious leadership expert that is passionate about helping individuals understand and fine tune their unique style in order to bring out the best performance in themselves and their teams.
Education and Experience
Cathy brings insights and learning from over 20 years of experience coaching and developing leaders at all levels, from C-suite executives to front line leaders and high performers in Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 organizations. Throughout her leadership development work with clients, she has come to believe that self leadership is a necessary precursor to success leading others. With this philosophy she has helped leaders from a multitude of industries gain powerful new insights about their leadership style in order to achieve transformational impact.
Having been both a business leader and executive coach, she brings a unique perspective to her leadership development work, combining practical team leader experience with assessment and development expertise to drive team and organizational success.
Cathy received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Minnesota and Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of St. Thomas.

Cathy has been engaged in sport from a young age, though her passion for performance psychology was fostered through her four kids’ active participation in competitive sports. Over the years she has supported them in their many seasons competing in basketball, hockey, soccer, volleyball, cross country, track and field, competitive cheerleading, swimming, nordic skiing, alpine skiing, and figure skating. Season after season she has been fascinated by the power of coaches’ styles and athletes’ minds on performance. Cathy is an avid runner herself and regularly races in individual and team events.
