Let’s start with a fun fact about yourself. 

I am a quarter Filipino.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

If I could travel anywhere, I would take a hiking trip to the Swiss Alps in Switzerland.

What is the best show you’ve watched on Netflix?

The Office (Netflix)

Game of Thrones (hands down the best show ever created)

What is your favorite song? Favorite artist?

Favorite Song – Take Me Home, Country Road by John Denver

Favorite Artist – Chris Stapleton

You are being sent to a deserted island you can bring one person and one item, who and what would you bring, and why?

If I was sent to a deserted island I would bring Mike Zimmer and a memory foam pillow.

If you could have one superhero power, what would it be?

If I had one superhero power I would want to possess the force from Star Wars.

When you were in Kindergarten, what did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was in Kindergarten I wanted to be a professional football player.

What is one thing that scares you?

I am deathly afraid of snakes!!

Favorite sport to play? How about to watch?

My favorite sport to compete in is the decathlon for track and field.

My favorite sport to watch is NFL football or NBA basketball during March Madness.

What is your experience with sports?

I grew up in a sports oriented family and have had experiences various sports. In high school, I was a linebacker and running back for the football team. I also competed as a sprinter and triple jumper for the track and field team. I am currently a student athlete at the University of St Thomas where I compete as a decathlete for the track and field team. In my spare time I love to bike, rock climb, play basketball, and play softball.

What has drawn you to the sports psychology world?

I first learned about sport psychology when I was watching an ESPN program about Michael Jordan. They had a sport psychologist on the television talking about Jordan’s flu game during the 1997 NBA finals against the Utah Jazz. The sport psychologist talked about Jordan’s mental toughness and his ability to perform under pressure. I was immediately drawn into the television, and the rest was history.

What is your educational background and future aspirations?

I am currently a junior at the University of St. Thomas where I am studying psychology and exercise science. I plan on attending graduate school for sport psychology, and I have aspirations to own a sport psychology practice.
