Spring Internship Opportunities Available!
Premier Sport Psychology is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a 6 to 8 week Spring Internship of 2020. This internship is open to students 18 years of age or older who are currently enrolled in post-secondary education. We are looking for creative, collaborative, and driven individuals who possess a desire to pursue a career in the field of sport psychology. Candidates must be professional, articulate, and self-sufficient with strong research and writing skills. A sport or performance background is preferred, but not required. This is an unpaid internship, requiring approximately 20 hours per week. If your current program requires an internship in your field of study, we will work with your institution to see if this opportunity will allow you to receive credit. We offer flexibility around scheduling/working hours, and students will be responsible for coordinating schedules and accomplishing their tasks within the deadlines given.
Opportunities may include (but are not limited to) the following items/areas: research and writing of blogs and other content (e.g., worksheets/handout materials, presentations, etc.), sport and performance psychology content research and creation for experiential activity development, workshops and/or presentations, social media posts, web development, creating/editing/expanding marketing materials, and media and community outreach.
Currently, we are seeking up to two qualified candidates for our Spring Internship.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this internship paid or does it provide any compensation?
Unfortunately, this is an unpaid internship, and we do not offer any compensation. Letters of recommendation and consideration for future employment may be offered based on performance (and needs of the company).
Where is this internship located? Can I participate remotely?
Our internships are facilitated on site, just outside of Minneapolis, MN. We do not offer remote participation in our internships, as we require students to be available in-person and on location.
How much time do I need to commit to this internship?
Each internship is different, and has different projects/foci. However, you should plan for about 20 hours per week, which may be split between working on-location and remotely. We try to accommodate the schedules of our interns, but will ask for a weekly in-office commitment of 1 to 2 days per week (Monday through Friday).
Do you provide housing or transportation for your interns?
We do not provide any housing or transportation for interns. It is the responsibility of the student to secure their own accommodations and reliable sources of transportation to/from our Edina office, which is conveniently located on the 540 bus line.
Will I get to sit-in on sessions or meet any of your athletes/clients?
We are bound by HIPAA and take client confidentiality very seriously. Thus, we cannot allow interns to participate in any sessions with our clients. As we must protect our clients’ confidentiality and health information, we do not allow our interns to meet our clients or participate in any case consultations between providers.
Can I attend any presentations or workshops?
Depending on the audience/presentation, you may have the opportunity to see our sport psychologists in action! Throughout the year, our staff participate in numerous presentations and workshops for local sports medicine firms (e.g., Mayo Clinic, Tria Orthopedics, Twin Cities Orthopedics, etc.) and other groups. If they deem it appropriate, we would be more than happy to have you there!
Can I apply for an internship not yet posted?
Yes! Typically, we host our internships seasonally, timed approximately with semester start/end dates. We review all applications on a rolling basis, and are happy to reconsider your application for future internship opportunities (just send as an email and let us know). In the event that you would like to apply for an internship not yet posted, please be sure to indicate the season/year in which you would like to participate.
